Curator’s Comment:
Didn’t I say I had a headache is a wonderfully whimsical, and sardonic work. Your illustrative style works well with the subject, as it takes familiar anthropomorphized animal forms and animates them in a decidedly contemporary/conflicted way. The atmospheric perspective in the seemingly idyllic landscape sets a nice stage for their bout, but the two jagged clouds in the sky pointed on opposing diagonals towards the hares reverberate with energy of the conflict. It’s a curious piece in your collection, as the humor arises from the context rather than title alone, and the landscapes without figures seem much more idealized and romantic.
