Jesus, my favorite subject.
Curator’s Comment:
These aptly titled Eternal Portraits are incredibly romantic, heroic images in their smooth beauty and melancholy nature. Most are striking in a graphic manner as well. I’m especially drawn to the pictures that capture the erosion and aging process of the tombs themselves, as they move beyond the inherent beauty of the original artwork and become something else altogether. Processes of breaking down solid, stoic marble and granite symbolically speaks to the ravages of time against what and who we revere. In our veneration we seek to create monuments to withstand the ages. There is a certain poetic irony that these photographs, whether existing as silver gelatin on paper or in a more nebulous digital realm, in their arrested tribute will likely survive beyond the stone.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
