Thanks for replying and telling us about your process.  I've worked quite a bit with encaustic myself, but have never had any luck with transfers!

It is coloured wax melted on to tissue paper then transferred to a support with heated tools and the n additional drawing added afterwards. this kind of work I find is liberating because you have to give reign to your imagination, it does not always work but nothing you do is ever wasted and can be developed further.

Curator’s Comments:

Welcome to the site!  I was immediately drawn to your piece entitled Rock Pool, seeing it as a wonderful hybrid landscape; implying a tide pool with luminous blue vegetation rising above the water.  I particularly enjoy the biomorphic striations leaning into the bottom of the picture frame.  They look as though they were created from a decalcomania process, or ‘accidental’ print transfer method.  It’s interesting to see noted that the transfer was created through encaustic, as I would have imagined the wax medium would have cooled before the texture was imprinted. In any case, this comparatively more random organic patterning nicely balances the more deliberate and controlled contours within the interior space, and in the triangular formation of stems and grasses.  It’s a skillful play between natural order and chaos.  The opening in the center of the composition also nicely echoes and balances the quieter white background. I find it to be your most unusual piece on the site (so far) in its expressive red and blue color palette which moves away from the natural world to create an evocative invented one.
