Curators Comments:

This Monumental piece sways at the top with the same organic movement seen in your dancers.  It’s an interesting and almost startling depiction of an architectural structure.  The tilting and skewed three-point perspective combines tightly rendered (photographic) illustration with gesture.  While medium isn’t identified, it claims more of a graphic or less manipulated digital likeness and cropping than seen in your other pieces on the site.  Assuming an exaggeration of local color, the orange and blue color scheme sets off a strong complementary hue relationship, and creates dynamic visual tension.  I also interpret a somewhat surreal inclusion in the purplish light emanating from the top of the monument; while flows into the wash surface in the immediate background.  It is a curious work in that it depicts clear depictions of government and military with altered elements, but without obvious subjectivity of content.
