Curator’s Comments:
This seemingly untitled landscape offers the viewer entry into a lush and private cove. The reeds and wildflowers in the foreground create an interesting barrier, or visual ledge we need to move past to experience the textural contrast and blue of the water. I also appreciate the stippled green reflection of the low lying trees on the water, as they offer a fluid transition and connect the natural spaces. The elongation of the horizontal format accentuates the restful mood of the scene. But I am also drawn to the far left, with the tree stump and what looks to be a small boat or dock. I contemplate whether they are natural or made made/altered forms in the landscape,
