From my series, Surface Tension. The vortex is a phenomenon that is caused by blue holes. These are deep caves in the ocean, often found in the Bahamas.
This piece is made of graphite and metallic pigment on frosted mylar. It is hung as a set of scrolls. Patterns are inspired by oil sheen, sea snakes and seaweed.
