Iris Orgy is no doubt a study of opulence and unrestrained splendor.  The fine transitions of color seem more reminiscent of watercolor than oil- light seems to emanate from underneath the surface of the floral subjects, and along their folded edges.  I quite enjoy the abstraction of forms en masse.  The larger paler petals in the upper left stretch out and down towards the radiant pinks and oranges in the center/right.  I find it interesting that there seems so little cool color in the palette, but the work doesn’t sacrifice contrast or depth.  The deeper hues towards the center in fact create the sensation that the entire composition is one bloom unfolding.  I also feel the square format also creates a nice balance, and slight tension, as it denies the typical/standard Renaissance window.  I imagine that you don't intend to be a photo realist, but a hyperealist? Your work titled 'Shame' of what appeasr to be Christo's Running Fence is also a curious commentary within the context of your portfolio of work.
