Curator’s Comment:

The cross hatched lines are beautifully meditative, as referenced by the title, but I'm also reminded of pins and needles.  Sharp, precise edges poke out of the gently curved lines of the cross like shape.  The darker, delineated shape dissolves into itself, and reads as an "x", marking the spot, or crossroads.  But I find the drawing far from minimal, as all of the space is filled- there's no visual rest.   I like how the repeated cross form morphs into a more ecological/biological shape in EcoErotic.  As a floral vestige the vertical shape stretches to simulate growth.  But I find the hand printed shape too ascendant to be meditative.  The open hand confronts, and stops me from entering into the space, pulling out of the contemplative zone and making me acutely aware of the artists labor intensive, hand worked process.
