So is the red cadmium? Can't be alizarin, because that turns purple when combined with black. And the paper is yellowish ivory?
picture of Harriet with 'trois crayon', which means using just three pastels, white black and red. To achieve any blues or purples you have to combine the colours together. Many thanks for the comments. This drawing is of my daughter and I am working on another small portrait of her as this one sold and I do miss it.
