I am an artist, designer and illustrator. Obsessed with composition, texture, graphics and pattern, my favorite media include ink, acrylic and digital collage. My work often manifests itself as organic, biomorphic and unconscious creations. Inspired by the rejuvenating creative process, I am currently exploring the effects of the unconscious upon internal emotions and how they morph into physical pieces.

This is bold work.  The linear quality has a measurable confidence and immediate graphic impact.  But I actually like this particular piece in your portfolio because of the more complex and subdued linear qualities, along with the layered pictorial frames.  The juxtaposition of the two spaces and treatments of pattern suggest a micro-macrocosm relationship- as if I’m seeing a metamorphosis or transitions of a biological process.  The cross-contour lines create a visual flow, but the central contrast and color remain a steadfast focal point.  I’m struck by the illustrative, didactic quality of your work.  I think this is formidable strength, as I feel you’re intently describing a form- be it natural or created.  But I also appreciate the works that temporarily forgo this clarity, or move beyond it, to devolve into multiple readings or interpretations.  Catterfiller is a piece that for me seems to have certain intentionality.  By that I mean the lines and imagery doesn’t meander, as in a state of flux.  This work seems to be catching and describing an intense and specific moment.  Of course the abstraction of the organic subject matter maintains a certain aura of mystery.  Perhaps it’s the color that offers this dissonance for me- as if there’s a “truth” in your black and white drawings that gets filtered and reassembled when color is introduced.
