I’m going to preface my remarks by confessing I’ve never worked in jewelry, but these pieces are really wonderfully diminutive, fully realized sculptures.  There is a quaint diorama-esque characteristic to the multiple components, and a lavish absurdity when one considers the functionality of the piece as a ring.  I really love them.  This piece especially creates a commentary on the idea of societal excess, as the standing figures seem fixated on their photographic interest.  The unwavering focus of multiple cameras is towards the basking nude (anatomically correct?) subjects, as if more if always better.  I would like to see this piece from multiple angles, as the band appears to pull a film strip from the side of the camera, complete with shooting stars.  The detailed workmanship seems to present a graceful transition from each angle to assist in the unfolding mini-drama.
