Thank you so much Kristen! Your 'sense' is correct, this piece came to me in a dream.
Curator’s Comments:
Sacred Geometry is an unusual and remarkable piece in your series of stylized landscapes. More economic in its primary compositional shapes than many of the other paintings, it counters the simplicity in basic compartmentalization in the elaborate configurations within the achromatic ground. The swath of high chroma blue moving diagonally through the space reads as water, but there’s some ambiguity in what appear to be the surrounding banks. I enjoy the variation within these numerous small cylindrical forms, as they change in direction but still look drawn with outline. The contrast between the linear depiction of these shapes and the more painterly water creates visual interest and complexity. I get the sense many of your other works depict real and specific places, whereas Sacred Geometry suggests an invented landscape, or underlying relationship common to universal earth elements and natural environments.
