This was converted to B&W using SilverFX Pro. This suite of 15 images feature the family farms of Southeast Minnesota. These farms range from abandoned to working farmsteads.
This is actually an old one room school house that has been abandoned.

this series of yours has such a nostalgic, melancholy effect on me.  i witnessed the dismantling of farms in Kansas in the 80's, the disintegration of a life that had been passed down from generation to generation of solid people who were at the whim of many forces, nature, economics, politics.  one could witness the increasing auctions in the front of farms with a lifetime of machinery and personal belongings spread out as farm after farm folded.  the internet has lots of information about the history of farming in this country and the politics that deeply influenced the life of farmers both in boom & crisis times.  i love the coloration in this series.
