They Will Knee You In The Face Then Kick You When You're Down was produced as a reaction to the Stokes Croft riot (prior to the more widespread UK riots) which pitted a largely peaceful community in stand off with police and authorities when a Tesco express was opened against the wishes of the local community. It is an expression of authoritarian brute force and brings into question how as individuals we relate with one another and with those who hold positions of power.
