Tree of Life crann bethadh

This design is adapted from the Book of Kells: an illuminated manuscript created by Irish monks in 800 AD. The round motif in the center depicts four beasts, eight birds, four reptiles and four plants with fruit. Four male figures and eight birds surround the center. The sculpture is carved in red sandstone, painted with handmade oil paints and embellished with 22k gold leaf.
