An ancient springtime tradition, but the hats let us know this is contemporary, because prior to the 20th century, turbans were worn. Meandering lines in the carpet remind me of a river, and the green ikat background infers rain.

So glad you're enjoying it. I knew nothing about the Silk Road until about ten years ago, when I first saw ancient Persian art. It clearly had Indian and even Chinese influence, and it hooked me.
