Welcome to the site! I’m particularly enamored with the photograph entitled West Franklyn Street, which has a fresh, unique approach to urban space. The seemingly semi-transparent layering of natural landscape and phenomena such as a waterfall, nicely echoes the cascade of the glass and steel facades. The empty white negative space smoothly slices through the icy blue and black reflections and provides the space visual rest. I also appreciate the proposition of foreground, which roughly balances the two halves of the split structures. While the piece effectively uses photographic realism, the image can alternatively be enjoyed as a purely formal, non-objective composition. Your other works share a similar harmony between illusionistic and flat space, which each creating a distinctive and luminous environment.
