"Wide eyed and bushy tailed" - I know you will probably not appreciate a manipulated photo image. However I would like to know if the art community hold any value to this type of art.
It takes several hours to create and I just wonder if there is a market for this type of art before I invest loads of hours perfecting it?

Also, considering this is computer generated, I welcome all comments good or bad.

Thanks for looking!

I can’t speak for any larger art community as to the commercial success of this type of process, but I do find this particular portrait engaging.  It has the unflinching realism of straight photography, but the heightened textural manipulation adds visual interest.  The face appears leathery and yet taught- subtle glimmers of cool colors within the predominantly warm skin tone also creates unexpected emphasis on the lower portion of the face, and facial hair.  The background appears slightly pinkish on my screen, but I don’t believe the hue is strong enough to evoke or sway the psychological mood of the piece, or counter the expression of the subject.  More to the point of your questions, and desire for feedback, I wonder what you hope to accomplish in this manipulation that you aren’t able to achieve otherwise.  I’ve never been concerned about how long something takes to create, if the end result is successful for the artist.  It would seem to me that if photography is to some arguable degree about capturing the natural world, than by contrast digital manipulation offers the artist an opportunity to inject qualities that can’t normally be seen.
