There is a world of knowledge, feelings and thought that go beyond words. One purpose of art is to give this world tangible form and expression. I choose the figure as a means to express my point of view. I see in the human form every conceivable emotion present in all of mankind, along with all possible shapes and forms in nature. My dramatic figures are stretching and straining to free themselves from the canvas. They are powerful, emotionally charged, and expressively distorted. The human form is the escalator I use to climb outside the confines of social structure into the pure unfettered world of free association. Hand and mind form a partnership that results in a message that will prod the seeking viewer into the artist’s world with not just an open mind, but with an open psyche as well.
