I learned to paint when I was very young and enrolled in evening art classes at Akron University when I was 13. Winning Cleveland City Artist of the year award at the age of 14. Studying photography, color, and fine arts throughout my 20's I never revealed my love of art to anyone. For fear that my art would be rejected and my heart crushed. As I grow older that fear has passed and my desire to share my art has surged. I love to share art and create art. I believe there is no one great artist, but different perspectives, emotions, and ideas each of us create.
What kind of artist am I? I am a passionate lover of nature that expresses my feelings through my art. I never know what will appear on the canvas because I am so driven by my inner senses when I paint. If I start with a plan it always ends up where it wants to go.
Am I afraid? Yes, everyday I wake up and have some fear I will be rejected or not know what others will think of my art. I love my art and love to create it so I naturally want people to feel the same.
Am I happy? Not always and some of my darkness is prevalent in my work. Anger, frustration, and dark illustrations develop out of some of my paintings. This is what I find lures people to my work.
Who inspires me? Dali has always inspired me. The story behind each one of his paintings captures me. I love his interpretation of nature and land, but with his own very unique inflection of emotion.
Georgia O'Keefe also has inspired my work. Her love of the Southwestern landscape, flowers, and colors draws me in.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
