Profile Information

I love drawing wildlife!

I have had a love affair with animals since a small child. My passion is to capture the soul of the subject with their eyes and facial expressions. Favorite mediums are pencil, charcoal or watercolor, with wildlife and pet portraits my subjects, just added the human element. I will be on to acrylics next.

I am mostly self taught and a student of Art and Design in college. Worked as a commercial artist for fifteen years, recently returned to Los Angeles after nine years in Oregon as part owener of a Mom & Pop cafe/bakery, Wow that was work! I am now enjoying being a full time artist, fine tuning the talents I was born with.

Hi Joette,
Thanks! No, it isn't air-brushed. What I do is make a pencil drawing or sketch, digitize it and then digitally paint over it. I then print it out on canvas or archival quality paper. They are really best viewed right in front of you because they are rather large (avg is 30" x 36") and the smaller size for the internet doesn't really quite capture the detail and color. If you would like to see my work in a better format, just send me your e-mail and I will send you some larger/better JPEGs. I'd love to know more about your art. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my work : )
Aloha,
Maurice
