I have loved to draw all my life but my greatest love and fascination has always been people ~ in all their infinite variety and character. I earned my B.F.A. but during my final year lost both my parents to cancer. It was a life-changing experience and my primary career became Hospice work for the next two decades. I bring to my art a deep love for people after working with folks facing the harshest realities imaginable.
My goal with portraiture is to portray each individual’s unique and personal beauty, especially true of my portraits of the artists who create the music I love.
My ‘Soft Portraits’ are done in charcoal on high quality, lightly toned Canson™ Mi-Tientes paper.
