Curator’s Comments:

The ghostly, ephemeral qualities in your painting practice are effectively highlighted in this piece from 2013, simply titled Angel.  Coming up on the site recently, I enjoyed revisiting all of your work. The subject matter is easily discernable in this piece.  But perhaps the reading the title as we take in the image guides the viewing of the white angelic form.  While media is identified as acrylic on paper, I would have otherwise assumed this piece to be a monotype, because of what looks to be the reductive wiping away of the positive form rather than application of opaque white pigment on the paper. The tinted streaks of blue and yellow reveal broad, steady brushstrokes across a hazier pink cloud form. I see the supernatural subject matter as emerging from the space, rather than being distinctly captured in the painting.  As the piece was posted some time ago, I do hope you consider posting some of your new work to the site.  They are evocative and conjure wistful moments in space and time.
