Thank you for bringing your work to my attention. Your pieces all have a strong signature style, with undulating organic forms. I especially like this piece, however, because of the more muted, lower chroma palette. Because of the limited color range I’m better able to see the nuanced undulations within the curvilinear forms, which are very suggestive of a figure. This figurative grounding helps anchor the swimming ripples of light, which seem to emanate form the within the center of the forms. I definitely see transmutation and metamorphosis in your works, but without strain or conflict. A Study of Opposites is appealing because of this tension, and friction between the complementary colors. The fluid crimson shape opposes the softer blue-green swirls, but all of the forms remain liquid and sinuous. Both pieces suggest a state of flux, and impart changeable, malleable movement. I enjoyed reading your statements which accompany these art works. It seems as though you are keenly aware of the transformative power of these images, but I’m wondering if conflict could play a bigger part of that visual experience. While you may be most interested in the positive “transfigurative powers of praise to produce regeneration” it occurs to me the natural powers you speak of often demand sacrifice or struggle in exchange for growth. But as they are, your ideas and work are quite stimulating and thought provoking.
