Julie thanks for comments. I found the painting in a thrift store, took it home and worked on it untill it was done.

hi james, you invited me to comment, "good or bad".  i don't usually think in those terms.  everything is an attempt to make a unique mark. we don't always hit the target so we keep trying.  i've always liked when you've painted on magazine pages & here on a found painting.  Your work in general has sort of a jelly fish transparency, so the layering behind your bleeding lines adds almost a stained glass quality in areas.  it looks like you're using sumi ink lines that are deliberate, non fussy, more like first instincts.  i do see an eroticized, liquid like female figure, in flux, not static, sort of like looking under a microscope at live organisms moving about.  i really like the use of red & your seeming backward E structure superimposed over the curves.  You have a personal symbology that repeats, becomes recognizable.  one of the mysteries i'm left with is the broken line of what appears to be stretched rubber, a completely different, deliberate texture.  it doesn't really require an explanation.  it adds interest & tweeks the viewer.  adelante.
