Event Description

International Deadline: June 1, 2015 – The Nesbitt Artist Residency Program in partnership with Bucknell University Department of Art and Art History as well as the Samek Art Museum provides time, space, and exhibition opportunity to visual artists working in any media.

The Nesbitt Artist Residency consists of housing accommodations, meals, a $3,000 stipend, and exclusive use of a studio for four weeks. The residency excludes transportation costs. The Nesbitt Fellow is selected from an open call with the one-month residency resulting in a public exhibition at the Samek Connections Gallery. The Nesbitt Fellow is selected by our admissions panel, which is comprised of a revolving group of distinguished professionals in visual arts.

ELIGIBILITY
The Nesbitt Residency Program accepts applications from artists who have been working in visual arts professionally for at least five years. The artists are judged primarily on the quality of their work, but also on the potential of their practice to translate into a new body of work that engages multi-disciplinary approach to art making. The Nesbitt Residency Program encourages applications from artists representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics. Applicants who are in a degree program as of the date of application are ineligible for a residency and therefore cannot apply. The applicants must be willing to open their studios to public and Bucknell art students for a group visit once a week for no more than two hours.

The Nesbitt Residency Program is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all persons regardless of race, sex, color, religion, creed, national origin or ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or disability.
