Curator's Comments:
Window Shopping came up randomly on the site today, and I was happy to pause, and take in some of the image’s intricacies I had missed in the smaller thumbnail version. The deep red and green drapery at first presented to me as a flag. But now I see the fabrics independent of each other in the layered negative/photograph. Are the colors symbolic? The car in the center of the composition becomes a curious focal image, along with tiny figures in close proximity. I also appreciate the interrupting road line, which is slightly off kilter, cutting through the center horizontally. I didn’t find other images on the site that you’ve treated in the same manner, making me curious if a narrative was intended. Your imagery appears to range from celebratory to the macabre, in a variety of media. As this piece was posted bac in 2011, I would like to see more recent work, and if one of the genres has overtaken the others.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
