Curator’s Comments:
This DNA inspired mixed media piece exhibits an essential strength in the simplicity of form, and repetition of shape and color. The muted, low chroma palette and splattered dark matter conjures earth elements, and biological impurities, while at the same time offering glimmers of gold. The painting is arguably less whimsical and buoyant than most of your other geometric works, with its lack of open space. The pieces entitled Net, Interwoven and Network for comparison utilize similarly dissolving grids, but do so in a more animated gestural arrangement. While gold is used sparingly in other works such as Yellow Gold, my perception is that it acts as an embellishment rather than conceptual inclusion. This piece mines our subconscious notions of the mystery of our collective and personal genetic makeup, and alternatively, all that it can (and cannot) reveal.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
