Curator’s Comments:

I was also surprised to see this artwork identified as digital media- and was glad to have the process explained some while back.  The image nonetheless exerts an almost rough hand manipulation, as if worked in chalk pastel or colored pencil.  The piece’s simple title of Tall doesn’t offer the viewer much insight into its possible content, but I did perceive what appears to be a mirror trifold as the primary subject matter before reading the description.  The reflective light throughout the flatter planes nicely connects a long horizontal axis. The repetition of the elements of a flower and slightly abstracted/distorted sphere also imbue the work with a sensation of a figurative presence cast within repeated structures. But the repeated frames or windows within the picture plane obscure as much as they reveal.

This is the result of photographing objects collecting dust on my window sill. The objects, an old stiro-foma ball painted blue,a glass block, an unused frame and a dried flower. The photo I then copied, pasted and flipped in several directions and then cropped and pasted parts of it to sort of frame it. Then I used a several different filters to give it this final look. The orignal picture was not very interesting but the final piece I think came out quite nice.
