Curator’s Comments:

The energy of this non-objective piece balances very high chroma shapes with muted grays and greens. I like the variances between gestural mark-making, and dotted pattern, which slows down the visual movement of the composition. I see a hierarchy in the primary red shapes, which expand out to connect to red forms along the periphery.  While many of your expressive pieces use similar outward expansion of pattern and design, this particular piece appears more self-referential- perhaps because of the quieter space along the edges, which frame most of the activity. I also enjoy the first piece in your arrangement on the site for similar restraint, and push-pull in the linear dynamics.  That you for posting these fairly recent paintings to the site.  I look forward to seeing more of your work.
