A third color added to the background before printing with my silk screen with blended colors on a silk scarf in the same pattern as above.

Curator’s Comments:
It’s unfortunately all too easy to overlook the subtlety of some of your textile designs when viewed against thumbnails of the bolder, more graphic images. But I very much enjoy the layered color and organic markings of this pale turquoise silkscreen. The top linear design is seemingly random, or at least doesn’t repeat in this cropped frame. The fluid nature of the background streaks and washes of faintly contrasting cool hues further lends itself to this layered approach. The effective shifts in figure-ground colors keep the pattern lively and complex as the blue alternatingly travels over the green or violet. The end result possesses an interesting patina. The adjacent silk work in red and yellow appears to have been printed from the same matrix. Again, I’m attracted to the understated white lines over the pale creamy yellow layer, but it also occurs to me that this slide could be a lightened version of the actual object if “red” and “yellow” are actually present.
Thank you "Scott Smith"...
