I discovered Magnets randomly on the site today, and am intrigued by the smoky grey values combined with contrasting black and white elements. I’m curious to find this achromatic piece as somewhat of an outlier among your colorful paintings on the site. Gipsy shares the black and white value pattern, but doesn’t have nearly the concentration of transitional grays. There is a tremendous amount of visual movement in the composition, with the radiating shapes offset from what looks to be the originating vortex, or oculus. Composing this circularly shaped focal point to the right of center keeps the space active. While you’ve identified the work as acrylic on canvas, I would have imagined I was viewing a digital piece, or photographic drawing with liquid light emulsion. Please do consider posting new works- I would like to see how your painting practice is evolving.
