Curator’s Comments:
Drift is an exuberant, dynamic piece. While acrylic and brush (airbrush?) are identified as the media, I can’t quite distinguish what appear to be areas of raised white iridescence. The black linear design moving through the piece is fluidly calligraphic, but I find it expresses bold explosive gesture rather than a gentle floating movement, as the title implies. The tinted pastel color along the edges appears formally opposed to the black line, but the graduation of pink to more saturated red furthers a sense of confident transition. Taken as a single work, it’s difficult to ascertain if your creative process is wholly non-objective, or if there’s a thematic conversion or shift. I do hope you post more paintings on the site.
