Thank you! As you probably noted I have not added any new work in a very long time but my work has continued to expand in many, many ways.

This digital portrait is a striking image.  I see it as more forceful than the other subtly colored planar constructions because of its directness in representation and dynamic textural juxtapositions.  The large head rising up through the trees might have been viewed humorously in another treatment or context, but the stoic expression and shadows keep emotion and the element of surprise muted.  I like the aura of pale blue surrounding the warmer shadows delineating the figure.  They nicely balance formally and conceptually in the merger of sky and figure as earth. The spherical form in the center also functions as a grounding element or oculus that conjures global or celestial insights.  In fact, its direct placement within the space of the human head could lend a reading of the tree branches as human synaptic connections in the brain.  Organic manner is unified through macro/microcosmic relationships. The last linear element extending from the bottom of the image suggests the far reach of this synthesis.
