a place in the green field untouched since she left

From the outside in the rippling grasses, it seemed welcoming. Maybe because of what vignetted the shack, it seemed active. It seemed like it would be relaxing. I regretted pushing Lily into entering that place the moment I saw the amounts of dust. She must not have entered in a while, but why would she? It may have not been the most intricate thing her and her friend had built, but it may have been some of the best times her and Aimy had spent together; The endless nights building it with emerald, the even longer nights sleeping over and playing while they were still young. I knew that face on Lily; I knew what she saw in the fallen decorations and collections of dust everywhere. Her friend was gone, and six years later, decaying memories waited for her to walk into the shack they had built; just so they could haunt her. I held Lily's hand.
"Are you gonna be ok?" I asked.
she gripped my hand. "I think I'm not ready to do this," she said softly.
I lead her to the door, hearing the tapping of the rain. It was as if everything became light-hearted the moment we got back into the outside air.
"You were brave for humoring me," I said.
Lily gave me a kiss on the cheek. "you were sweet to push me."
We ran to the same hill, and la in the same spot as the day before, not minding the rain. She wasn't distant, but I could tell Lily wanted some space as we lay in the wet grasses. I looked at the shack between the two protruding spires, as an enormous levian wraith passed, letting out a calm moan. Though Lily and I had something established now, this moment told me that we had some things to learn about each other, some struggles to face with each other, and some ice to break still.
"Lily, you know some day that place won't be so sad, right?" I asked. "That some day, it will have new memories?"
Lily looked over to me with a warm smile. "Yeah, I know... Even though I don't trust it yet."
