I admired the complexity of your portraits and appropriated figures some time back, and was happy to see this new seemingly more abstract work titled Acrobat.  Similar in the ordered structuring of compartmentalized color, the piece contains gestural movement despite the geometric rigidity of the squares.  The looping designs within each section employ an organic modulation despite the regular patterned repetition.   My eye wants to make out a figural gesture within the work, perhaps because of the title or proximity to other recognizable subjects.  I also find it interesting that the acrylic medium can produce a textile-like woven surface within the flat overlays of color.  As a very recent addition to the site I wonder if your imagery is taking a new direction, or if this less representational arrangement simply signals another approach within your broader practice.
