Coming across this piece randomly today, I perceived a dissonance between the image and title. I remembered the photographs you posted with similar headings related to performance and park rides some time ago; I know I admired and commented on at least one. But this piece strikes me as much quieter and more abstract. The elusiveness of the forms is just beyond recognition or comprehension, as the streaming ribbons of blue light are ethereal compared to the solid and metallic bands from which they are tethered. The faint translucent circles in the background suggest an inadvertent but fortuitous sun glare, as they are nonetheless integral to the balance of the composition. I find myself coming back to this image both to appreciate the translucency of the form, and to ascertain its origin. I also find it interesting to contemplate its objectivity in the context of the other pieces. While there may actually be different bodies of work present, I get the impression I’m experiencing the full range of sensory happening at the Fair.
