Thank you for viewing and commenting on my piece Four Moons.  It's wonderful when someone finds ones work successful.  So thank you again.

Curator’s Comment:

This is the kind of image that makes me want to immediately go to the print studio and make an etching!  It speaks the full, rich language of intaglio with opulent blacks and lacey line work.  The gray plate-tone is beautifully accentuated by the feathered edge of the black and white image as it meets the pale blue background. I imagine this is a separate plate or designated area of photo etching?  The four full moons at the bottom balance the darker twisted organic form on top, suggesting metamorphosis, or perhaps the rhythmic ebb and flow of nature in accordance with the tides.  I’m reminded of the significance of four in nature and literature beyond the phases of the moon- four points on a compass, four winds of heaven, four angels, beasts of the apocalypse, etc.   This primacy of form with duplicitous associations moves this piece beyond a formal study.  October Field is also a superb work.  I hesitate to call it a print, since you denote mixed media.  But it also seems to marry photographic or soft ground techniques with a looser handling of color.
