Welcome to the site! The three Ascent pieces you’ve posted appear to serve as a triptych, more or less connecting their imagery along the edges of the picture plane. Because of their numerical designations beginning with eight, I wonder if there are actually seven more pieces in the series or installation. The substantial physical scale indicated on each of the paintings no doubt adds dramatic impact when viewing the actual works. The saturation in color- particularly in the high chroma blue ground- compresses the space and gives the sensation the viewer is suspended within a cropped entanglement of ribbon line structures. I particularly enjoy the composition of number ten, as the stretched out elements in the right half create visual tension, and encapsulate open interstices of space. The chiaroscuro in the brownish toned shadows in some segments suggest an almost figurative presence, or at least an animated organic form. But the deeper pink tomes pull away from any visceral interpretation of the abstraction, and inject purely lyrical movement. I do look forward to seeing more of your work on the site in the new year.
