It’s wonderful to see your new oil stick work- thanks for sharing it to the site.  The juicy color of Autumn 2 injects a saturated palette into the unified marks within this simplified landscape. The emphasis on the central tree and it’s protruding branches facilitates the organization of the space with compartmentalized color sections.  The thinner linear tree shape on the left counterbalances the darker hues on the right, while the pure red underlayer breaks through the subsequent coats of textured pigment, and gives the drawing a sense of movement. I enjoy the smaller dashes and dots along the center tree, which help to slow the eye, and encourage the viewer to take in the gamut of textural passages.  It’s a pleasurable, expressive piece.
