Curator’s Comments:
We’ll build a wall came up randomly on the site this afternoon, and attracted my attention with its saturated red hues, and provocative title. A massive fenced wall appears to bend and twist in a ribbon like manner against a blackish landscape in what I assume is a digitally rendered work. Complementary green hues follow the band of light in the sky, though the overall palette remains quite low key. The landscape below, if I’m, making out the image correctly, is understated. There are grid like partitions on the ground, but no sense of any significant structure in the shadow of the rising tide of the wall. After longer viewing I notice the image was created back in 2011; long before any banter about a US border wall entered into the political lexicon. This makes me more curious about the origin of the piece. I do hope you will consider posting some new artwork on the site, as well.
