beggining of the breaking of a self-set boundary

Lily quickly disappeared inside, and I was on my own for the next foot of climbing. As I got to the point she instructed me to follow inside, I braced my hands and followed her motion as best I could remember. Beginning to crouch, I moved my grip until I was grabbing the edge of the pod’s “smile”. I then froze, remembering how quickly Lily had made it inside. I was hanging off the edge by my hands and feet, wondering if I even had the strength, or balance to make it inside.
“Hey Lily, I don’t know if I’m doing this right,” I called. She did not respond. “Lily, can you hear me?” Still dead silence. I began to wonder if she was ok, or even there. “Lily!”
Suddenly, something gripped my torso tightly and pulled me in. I let out a yell, feeling a shock throughout my body as if I had fallen. I rolled inside the “mouth” of the pod, noticing that the air was too calm for this to be a trap, as well as a familiar, fuzzy, orange figure gripping me until I came to a halt. I caught my breath as I began to feel safe once again. Lily looked at me with a humorous smile.
“Calm down,” She said, patting me on the back. “Just take deep breaths.”
“Yeah, a little ahead of you on that,” I said a little irritated.
“Ok, when I pulled you in, did you feel that?” Lily asked
I looked at her with cooling frustration.
“Yeah, I felt something a little close to falling to my death,” I said sarcastically.
“Good,” She said. “Now that should be out of your system for when we climb back down, right?”
As I cooled down to a relieved state and looked at Lily confused, I was back in the peaceful moment, hearing the same sounds of the outside echo in this strange place I sat.
