I like this photograph.  The birds direction of sight shoots past its fellow companion to seemingly stare off into the fading background, as to look beyond its own grounded/deteriorating condition toward the once abundant land beyond.  At first the photograph grabbed me with its contrast and balanced composition, the direction of the bird in the foregrounds gaze makes the overall effect much more interesting.  I think it would be a good idea to think of another name for this photograph.
