Curator’s Comments:

This new iteration of your signature olive tree is equally stoic and figural.  I’m not sure I understand the spatial relationships of the work in this photograph, but it appears more sculptural than illusionistic /two-dimensional.  Media and scale aren’t offered, but I imagine the tree as an object floating against a black ground.  The thin silver-green leaves add a glowing mystique, making the tree appear more mythic in its isolated singularity.  I enjoy looking back over your other pieces on the site of the same subject.  The different approaches show a love and fascination with the species over time- creating a deeply resonant and absorbing body of work.
