Curator’s Comments:
These glass pieces have an ironic femininity to them as the flower elements are encased or embedded with glass. I find this particularly work titled Sanctuary most intriguing, as the cylindrical “vase” form is encrusted with other decorative elements so much that it becomes questionably organic itself. Stacked in an unusual manner, the vertical elements contrast the polished planar and rough stratified surfaces. The synthesis between what looks to be metal mesh and other malleable materials is also unexpected. The entire piece wonderfully encapsulates the peculiar beauty found in nature; from elongated and iridescent insects to carnivorous plants.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
