Thank you for your time and input. Yes the eyes are set. They had me working on them day and night to get them exactly how I was seeing to portray. Though I tried to make in a particular character type it was personal. I thought I could still pull it off however you nailed it. LOL that is wonderful to me. It is a painting that was created to "hold you in her space" as you said. She definite;y has a story to tell.
Thank you again.
Sincerely

Curator’s Comments:
Blue captures a wistfully recognizable expression despite the obvious abstraction of the subject. The facial features actually seem to be slightly blurred as if caught in motion. Even though the mouth is barely articulated and smoothed over, the eyes are deeply set.. I’m also struck by the strong primary hues in the skin matched by the hot pink and red background. The speckled blue hat (presumably lending the piece its title) is a curious inclusion in the otherwise warm picture palette. The lighter blue dots read as a pattern or illuminated sequins against the darker navy ground. The specificity of this figure leads me to believe the portrait is a personal rendition, more than the portrayal of a particular character or type. It’s my favorite piece in your portfolio on the site. While less active and gestural than the other figurative works, Blue has a compositional cohesion that draws me in and holds me in her space.
