Blue Allegro in Horizon captured my attention recently with its painterly marks and saturated color.  The piece initially appears to utilize linear drawing media, but on closer inspection, I believe the calligraphic gestural lines are likely brushstrokes. The analogous blue-green palette creates an interesting tension between restful coolness in temperature, and some intensity in chroma. The horizontal movement of the shapes interrupted by vertical peaks supports this balance between a soothing landscape association and visual activity.  I remember admiring your abstractions some time ago. This piece seems to exhibit less contrast in the value pattern in favor of nuanced tonal passages.  It’s wonderful to see the variation within your body of paintings posted on the site, and I do hope you consider sharing new work.
