The contortion of the figure(s) in this piece is beautiful and visceral- while there’s strength in the upward thrust of the figures meeting a low “ceiling” within the picture plane, it doesn’t seem to contain the violent, jagged markings in some of your other paintings.  The blue-violet hues create a dreamlike, embryonic containment, but there is tension with the visual weight resting on the thin, bone like leg projections at the bottom of the space.  I also enjoy the coarse scumbled white surfaces in the middle of the figurative mass- it juts the form out dimensionally, and helps layer the nuanced passages of shape and color.  I quite enjoy the forceful, almost brutal gesture of KR, but Glass Belly seems to hold the forceful energy together with almost classical rending.
