I appreciate the dramatic atmospheric qualities of Fog Over Bolinas Lagoon.  The swift moving diagonal lines crossing the coastal landscape create a misty veil throughout the scene, and the muted violet tint is nicely picked back up in the reflective sections of water and ground.  The deep green hues in the tree line beautifully offset these tinted pastel tones.  I also positively respond to the elongation of the horizontal picture plane.  The strong movement across the piece is f balanced by the right section of reddish land that reinserts itself back into the foreground.  However, in my observation, the painting seems to be more about the sensory experience of weather than a specific place.
