Curator’s Comments:
I’m not sure what I’m looking at here- you seem to have a variety of digital and photographic media/manipulation in your portfolio. Cloud of Change is one of those enigmatic pieces that seem a hybridized, painterly photograph. But regardless of technique, the mood of the picture is mutually representational and dreamlike as the architecture pushes up against the perfect cloud-filled blue sky. I see a dialogue between modern construction or contemporary apparatus, and classical facades. They could be antagonistically competing, but there’s intimation of a broader exchange about evolution and development as they’re placed against a peaceable sky. The dark shadow on the buildings on the right suggests the presence of other structures, but psychologically it could be an ominous observer, propping up the structure as its origin is just outside the picture plane. I suppose the insinuation of the clouds depend on your feelings about change itself. Formally, there’s a strong balance between warmer tonalities and open blue-violet tinting. The shadowed sections mute and soften some of the small repetitive elements, adeptly highlighting other areas of interest. The large amount of open space gives the complex architecture both room to breathe, and invites animated and expectant interactions.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
